This week I was putting the flags out and it was a nice day and it wasn't to windy so it was easy to put them out but there was parents coming in with there children ready for school so I had to try not to hit them or get in there way. I got them all away just in time for the bell. but on the way back to class all the children were running about and I was eager to get to class it was so it was busy. Write an effective argument for our chosen political party.

WALT: Write an effective argument for our chosen political party. Have you voted yet? National party is an obvious pick its very business oriented. I really do believe that New Zealand is going fine having National so my opinion is to keep National in govern. For example, I know that there are to many workplace injuries and deaths. I am aware that they are going to fund private and public tertiary educations on an equal basis. Another great policy, People have firearms in their cars and houses that they are not allowed to. As you know what party I like lets go over the first policy for National and this is a very good reason to vote for National. National has created a policy to implement new measures to reduce workplace death and injury National believes that people should be safe from injury and death at work.  They want to put in new ideas so that people don't hurt them self they want to reduce death and injury by ¼ by 2020. I believe this is a good policy because it means

formal letter

In Writing we have been learning to: Write a formal letter. We have followed the writing process and have planned and drafted a formal letter. Here is a link to our online Modelling book. This shows the process that we have followed. Here is the letter that I have writte n Here is my reflection on the letter writing that we have done. One thing that I found challenging about writing formal letters was figuring out where to start and trying to keep the letter going so that its as long as its meant to be. My next step is: look for more opportunities to put my letter writing knowledge into practice in the future.

I showed the community by going to kapa haka on time. I showed leadership by being resilient to the kids that took ages to learn the actions.

Operations using fractions, percentages, decimals and integers.

Image
In Maths we have been learning to: Understand operations using fractions, percentages, decimals and integers. Here is some evidence of my learning. Extended Abstract assessment task - links to the answer sheet and the activity sheet. Something that challenged me during this unit of learning was the lazier blazer task because you had to make fractions out of graphs. My next step is to continue to apply these strategies to real life/ problem solving situations.

Reading - Text Composition

In reading we have been learning to…. recognise the way words, sentences and paragraphs are put together (eg sentences that express cause and effect) and use this knowledge to understand complicated texts. Here is a link to our online modelling book These documents show evidence of my learning during this unit: Defining parts of speech Types of sentences Analyzing paragraph construction Explain the relationship between components of texts. Careers Education C.V. Writing

In CAREERS EDUCATION we have been learning to write a skills based Curriculum Vitae. A skills based C.V. focuses more on the skills that we have,  rather than our work history. Here is a link to our online Modelling Book that shows the process we have followed. Three things that I have learned about writing a Curriculum Vitae are: That you don't have to do it about your work experience  It has to be quite long   That you can to add skills that might not have to do with the job Here is a link to my Skills based Curriculum Vitae.

home learning challenge #2 2017 exellence

For this home learning challenge I went to three high school open nights I went to riccarton,  hillmorton and lincoln. they were all options at the start but when I went to them I didn't think lincoln suited me so I won't be going there but I don't know what to do with riccarton and hillmorton I really like them both so if I don't get into riccarton it will make my decision way easier because then I wont have to decide the hillmorton one was at the night time the lincoln one was before the riccarton one in the afternoon and the riccarton one was at night time but for the riccarton one we had to book in to get a tou where as the others you didn't have to. I showed leadership by knowing what my future will be. I showed respect by not saying that lincoln high wasn't as good as the hillmorton to everyone else there its a good school but just doesn't suit me.

Today all the leaders had a meeting with Mr Ladbrook because some of the leaders (me and some others)  still haven't got our merit badges and Mr ladbrook was just reminding us what we needed to do for our blog posts and home learning challenges and stuff like that. We also talked about how the house captains are sometimes forgetting to put out the flags and then bring them back inside after school and also forgetting to but out the bins out in the morning and bringing them back in, so we made a solution some of the house captain said that we weren't doing enough so  I said tat I would try to be more. I showed excellence by agreeing to do more and trying to be fair and I showed leadership by turning up to the meeting and trying my best to be a good leader for the whole school.
