On Monday the 29 of May all of the student leaders went to the city centre. We went by bus and we left school at 8:30 to get to the city council building about 9:00. Then we got there and met a city council tour guide that told us about what they do, they organise events, fix roads, look after any playgrounds and make decisions about where any buildings go or overall decisions. After that we were talking about how many many people there are in the city council and the different groups in the council, there are seven different groups. After that we got in to groups of three and met with someone that works there and they told us about their job/career. I met with a worker her name was Deb and she is a roading designer she can figure out where to dig in a road and she can design signs to put on the road and on her computer she can click a button and that shows her where all the water supply and wires things like that are under the ground.  After that we went for lunch to huchi huchi I had

National Standard 1: Combine simple proportions to work out what parts the whole is made up in a unit of 10 like 3 yellow with 7 blue, 5 yellow with 5 blue, 4 yellow with 6 blue. Say what the fraction and percentage of each stack is for yellow and blue. 2.National Standard 2: - Combine proportions to work out what parts the whole is made up of using non-multiple of 10 like 8 yellow:5 blue:4 white with 11 yellow:11 blue:11 white (19:16:15 and 38%:32%:30%) 3. National Standard 3: - Order fractions with unlike denominators by finding a common denominator My evidence:   The assessment task  My next step is: know how to work out the maths quicker and remember how to do it.

For this home learning challenge for this home learning challenge I learnt how to play the trumpet because I have not played it before and I also learnt how to play a song called The little F and G march. you only have to notes to play and  you have to hold the notes for awhile. the thing that I most enjoyed about it was  playing a new instrument.

My home learning challenge is A10. Volunteer at a local place or help your neighbours e.g wash an elderly neighbour’s windows etc for this I washed my grandma's car I used...       A window washer broom ,car wash soap ,water , a cloth ,a sponge and a tap/hose . It took me about half an hour.

The story is about a girl called zoe she lives in an ugly flat building that leans and is falling apart her mom died and her dad is miserable and she has a stepmom that hates her and she hates just as much. her name is sheila and she will do anything to get herself some prawn cocktail crisps. There is a bully that spits on her every day on her way to school she lives in the same flat building but she doesn't know where little does she know she lives quite near!!! you will have to read the book to find out more.
